Independence Unlimited

   Independence Unlimited opens doors to challenging and rewarding job opportunities for people with disabilities. Individuals develop marketable job skills that may lead to employment in the community. Training includes:

Supported Employment
Pre-Vocational Support
Sheltered Employment
Work Adjustment Services

   The IU site fulfills contracts for more than 200 different area businesses. Products and services include floor care, landscaping, cleaning, first-aid supplies, medical kits, personal protection equipment and wiping cloths.

    Pre-Vocational Support provides training to enable people with disabilities to improve their skills in:
Personal Care
Independent Living
Social Living Skills
Community Living Skills

    Sheltered Employment is designed to assess and develop employee strengths at the worksite.

   Supported Employment offers intensive on-the-job training and support for people with disabilities and places dependable workers in competitive employment. Services include:
Employment skills training
Individual job counseling
Job development and placement
On-the-job training
Follow-up support

    Work Adjustment Services prepares the employee for placement in Supported Employment or Community Employment.
The purpose of Work Adjustment is to sharpen existing skills and develop employability attributes that help people prepare for community employment.

  Four Seasons Greenhouse offers a large variety of vegetable and flowering plants, herbs and hanging baskets. We’re more than just a bargain. We’re unique — Four Seasons Greenhouse is a retail greenhouse that is also a hands-on training site for people with disabilities.

  People who work or receive training at this site also help fulfill an assembly contract for a local business.
